We just had Trunk or Treat (where you block off the parking lot and everyone decorates their cars/SUVs/vans and hands out candy) at our church, and the kids came back with tons of candy. Tons. I'm trying to convince them that they do not need to Trick or Treat Tuesday night, but they aren't buying it.
When the costumes started coming out in stores in late September, Matthew saw a Superman costume and begged everytime we went shopping for a Superman costume. So a few weeks ago, I gave in and bought him one. I let him play with it, wear it around the house; we made a big deal out of our Superman. When we started to get ready for Trunk or Treat, I guess the novelty had worn off. This is what he wanted to wear for Trunk or Treat:
Yep. That's the same costume he wore last year. This year though, he was "baby George lion." I have no idea where that name came from. He made it up. He thoroughly enjoyed being baby George lion this year and getting lots of candy. He was scared of our preacher though, who had dressed as a snowman. Matthew kept a sharp eye out for the snowman and avoided him at all costs.
Brandon was a ninja. Of course. He's been a ninja for about three of the past four years, I believe. Next year he wants to mix it up and be a dead ninja. Most of the boys his age were either ninjas, the "Scream" character or a grim reaper-type thing. Here's Brandon looking very menacing:
Happy early Halloween!
