Crazy Days

Chris is at a conference and will not be back until Sunday. Night. He left Wednesday, so I have been sole care giver to our two wonderful, well behaved angels. Every night has been just a picture of family harmony, with the boys doing exactly what they are supposed to do, hot homemade meals on the table and a spotless home every night.

OK, I'm lying.

There was one hot homemade meal. One hot fast food meal. And one, eat anything you want, it's Friday night meal. Matthew has been a biter this week. He's bitten me, Brandon and an unnamed child at daycare. Brandon's had a great week at school, but he's had to put up with me and Matthew being at odds.

See, Matthew is a creature of habit. For tranquility and zen and good karma to abound in our household, we have to do the same things everyday. Daddy being gone disrupts the balance of everything. With Daddy being gone, Matthew's objective turns into "let's see how far we can push Mom over the edge before she starts teaching us new words to use in Sunday school!"

It's not that he's doing BAD stuff, per se, it's just he's constantly doing stuff:
1. He put his toothbrush in the toilet.
2. He unraveled half a container of dental floss.
3. He chewed up a pencil.
4. He removed both shoes and socks before arriving at daycare and while it was raining and Mom had to put them back on while trying to lean over the front seat and it was very difficult.
5. He points at food items and says "this" and when you ask "Do you want this?" he says "No."
6. He takes off his clothes. All of them.
7. He changes the channel on the television.
8. He turns off the television.
9. He turns on the television.
10. He turns off the computer. While I'm using it.
11. He ALWAYS touches the tire on the car while I'm trying to load/unload him and he gets filthy and then he says "Don't do that!"
12. He ate wood chips from the playground.
13. He brought home wood chips from the playground in his jeans pocket.

Need I go on? Hurry home, Daddy! I'm going crazy!
