We had a very nice weekend -- shopping, wedding, more shopping. Saturday, we went to the wedding of a friend and co-worker. The boys were relatively well-behaved (I hoped to leave the wedding with the knowledge that my children did nothing to ruin the wedding video) and I think it was a successful venture out of the house.
We sat towards the back, in case we need to make a quick escape with a loud toddler, but we were able to sit through the whole wedding without problem. It was a very lovely, touching service.
Otherwise, on Saturday, it was shopping, shopping, shopping. We started off at Sam's. There are only a few things I buy in bulk at Sam's (bottled cokes, Horizon chocolate milk, and Pull-Ups. Oh, and they have some pretty good deals on clothes once and in a while.) and I'm always conflicted when I walk in and I'm faced with all the "stuff." Do I really need all this "stuff?" I'm usually ashamed and troubled by our materialistic society when I enter Sam's, then I think, "Wow! Now THIS is a good deal -- five dozen ball point pens for only $20.00!" Then I get home and think, "Did I really need five dozen ball point pens? Am I going to use five dozen ball point pens before they dry out? I don't think so."
Then on to Target. Then to the grocery store. All of this in an effort to save money. Maybe it would be better if I just went to one store, abandoned the need for specialty items, and went back to the basics. I went three places on Saturday and still didn't get the smoked mozzarella cheese I needed for one of my 30 minute meals with Rachel Ray. Phooey!
Today was also pretty quiet, with church, laundry and, well, more laundry. This afternoon, we went out in the back yard and let Moose out with us. We all went inside and forgot Moose was out there. Her perfect chance to escape. But she didn't. An hour later, I took some trash outside and Moose came walking up from the side of the house. She seemed a little incensed that we had forgotten her. I asked her why she didn't run for the hills while she had her freedom, but then she'd actually have to find her own food and water instead of rattling her food bowl and one of us running to fill it with Purina.
I've tried to publish a picture of Moose and Matthew, but for some reason, Blogger won't attach it. Too bad.
