Now Chris is scheduled for gallbladder removal Monday afternoon. He'll probably spend one more night in the hospital after that, then come home. While surgery is not going to be fun, we're happy that it's not pancreatitis. From what I've read (thanks, Mayo Clinic!) pancreatitis is not something you want to have. There's no eating while your pancreas heals, which can be a day or so to a week. Chris has already gone 36 hours with no food or drink. I'm sure he'll be really hungry after surgery.
