First Camp

We're about to take Brandon to his first week of camp (no parental supervision on our part this time). He hasn't been nervous or excited; he's been very stoic about the whole thing. I remember going to camp for the first time, and packing what must have been the world's biggest suitcase (at least it seemed that way to me, plus, I'm a girl so I have more stuff). I don't really remember how old I was, maybe 10 or 11 when I first went. It was in Florida, and since it was Bible camp, we couldn't wear shorts that first year. (You know, the modesty factor.) Several people died got sick from the heat and the next year, we could wear "jams" or Capri pants.

Jams:

Remember jams? I think I had a couple of pairs of the floral variety. Big, colorful flowers. Brandon's wardrobe is much less colorful: baggy navy shorts, baggy red shorts, gray t-shirts, red t-shirts. That's about the extent of his color palette.

I'm excited for Brandon, I hope he has a great time at camp. Time to load up the car. Maybe he'll have a lot to talk about when he gets back on Saturday.

You failed to mention the items you little sister so caringly packed for your trip to camp. I took much care and consideration while fabricating paper farm animals to keep you company at camp.

A note about jams. I recently saw some pictures of Stephen wearing jams....in junior high. I am pretty sure that jams weren't in style in the early 90's, nevertheless he had several pair.
