Sallie Mae Needs To Get Their Act Together Because I Feel A Class Action Lawsuit Coming On . .

If you've been to college, you know who, or should I say, what Sallie Mae is. If you're out of college, you probably write Sallie Mae a check every month. If you're out of grad school, Sallie Mae probably owns at least a 25% interest in your offspring or future progeny, because you'll still be paying off school loans by the time your kid goes off to college. Then you can start saving for retirement. At age 54.

Since I've completed undergrad and now a law degree, I owe Sallie Mae more than I care to admit. But I'm really angry with Sallie Mae right now, because even with all the money I owe them, they can't seem to find the time to send me a bill. Or any other correspondence. I've called and asked them to send me bills. I think this is above and beyond the call of duty. They are charging me interest to service my loan, you'd think they could afford to mail me a stinking bill. Nevertheless, I'm making the required payments, but Sallie Mae can't seem to apply them to the correct loan numbers.

My parents inform me that this happened to my brother as well; Sallie Mae didn't send him his requested e-bills, nor did they send him paper bills. I'm starting to see a conspiracy. I have a theory, at least, which I am saving for further investigation. If my theory is right, and it's not just inept governmental hoo-hah that's the reason for the lack of billing statements, maybe I could initiate a suit that might pay off the horrendously-huge-why-did-I-go-to-grad-school debt I owe Sallie Mae.

So if you have problems with Sallie Mae, let me know. Or if you just want to bemoan the fact that you have to pay for your education until you're 54, that's okay, too.
