My New Addiction

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. Brandon introduced me to Mario Brothers for the Nintendo DS and I am hooked. It's been a LONG time since I've played Mario Brothers. Back in the day we had a Nintendo (which we got after our Atari) and my brother and I played Mario Brothers a lot.

I was relating to Brandon how Mario used to be. You see, back in the day, you started the game with 3 lives. You could only go forward, never backward, and once you lost all of your lives, you had to start over. At the very beginning. It didn't matter where you were, even if you were at the very end; you had to start over. There wasn't any saving of the game either. If you were going to beat the game, you had to do it all at once.

Now, if I lose all of my lives, I just start back at the last place I saved the game. I can go backwards and even revisit the other levels. How cool is that?

Of course, if you've never played Mario, you have no idea what I'm talking about. But if you're thirtysomething like I am, I bet you at least had access to a friend's Nintendo.

So that's where I've been the past few days. After the boys go to bed, I steal Brandon's DS and play Mario. I'm already on World 5.
