Fever

Unfortunately, Matthew is sick. He's running a fever and has an upset tummy, so most likely he has a viral infection. Or maybe he ate something that disagreed with him -- like leftovers out of Moose's bowl. I guess we'll never know.

With the fever comes emotional hyper-sensitivity. Look at him wrong and he bursts into tears. He wants to be held or be right beside me all the time. Unless he doesn't. Then he doesn't want me in the same room with him. Managing the mood swings of a two-year-old has been very trying. I think we'll make it through as long as he continues to let us hug and kiss him and our "Harry Potter" DVD doesn't wear out. (He loves "The Prisoner of Azkaban" because of Buckbeak and the bad wolf, who apparently has moved in with us and lives under his bed and he's just fine with that, thank you. They join the goats that live under our bed. I bet you didn't know we had so many animals in our house. We didn't either, until we had a two-year-old. Although when Brandon was a pre-schooler, he had an imaginary sister named "Hiccup" who lived in our attic. Brandon often told complete strangers that he had a sister -- her name was Hiccup -- and she lived in the attic. Thankfully, Oklahoma DHS never came out to check on her well being.)
