Ligers, Tigons and . . . rhinopotamuses?

Brandon has recently been fascinated by ligers and tigons. (NO, he hasn't seen Napoleon Dynamite, and NO, my son is not a nerd. He is just cursed with the dual edged sword of nerdy parent genetics and nerdy parent environment. Poor kid.) We were discussing them at dinner, of course, and Chris and Brandon were having an animated conversation about blending of animals, such as ligers, tigons, and mules, when I came up with another one we should attempt: rhinopotamuses.

Why not? We already have heard about the famed and rarely seen jackalope, why not create a new zoological sensation with a rhinopotamus? People will flock from miles around to see this new creature. Chris and Brandon didn't really pay much attention to my idea. But, hey, aren't we getting tired of the same old animals? We're already toying with the genetic code, so why don't we create something like a zebraffe. Cogs and dats surely would make wonderful pets. Cockapoos and Labradoodles, step aside! I want a tabby chihuahua or a Siamese wolfhound!
