Matthew's New Passion

Shrek 2. We watch it in the morning. We watch it in the afternoon. We watch it at night. He loves that movie. It is really the ONLY time that he will sit still -- and for an amazing hour and 32 minutes. He likes to sit in the recliner, with the footrest extended and he puts his hands back behind his head like he's really relaxing.



The intro song (Accidentally in Love by Counting Crows) runs through my head constantly. I guess it's better than the Elmo's World songs that tortured me a few weeks ago. At least the music in Shrek 2 is more my taste.

We have watched this film in it's entirety at least 20 times. I'm not kidding. But it is entertaining, not just for the savvy two-year old, but also for the discriminating nine-year old and the adults. We still laugh at the scenes, even though we've seen them over and over again. I hope his next film infatuation is just as entertaining.
