As I read the news accounts and watch the horrible pictures of people affected by Hurricane Katrina, I am reminded how fortunate we are. For me, since 9/11, seeing people suffer leaves a huge knot in my stomach and I am shocked at how comfortable my life is compared to those who are affected by tragedy. That is why I have links on this site to feed those who are hungry and provide medical care to children -- because I feel that we must act where there is suffering, and there is no end to the suffering of those in New Orleans and Mississippi right now.
