Only my son would ask this question . . .

At lunch the other day, I was discussing with Chris some of the bar exam essay questions that I had been reviewing. One fact pattern had to do with a gift of land, deeded to a granddaughter by her grandfather. As I was explaining the facts to Chris, I told him that there was a mistake on the deed, and that it could be corrected (called 'reformation' of the deed). Brandon looked up from his chicken nuggets and said, "I thought you couldn't change deeds."

I was surprised, mainly because it sounded so funny coming from an eight-year-old that the thought of a deed had actually crossed his mind. Like he had pondered deeds and the mechanics of gifts of land at a previous time. I just found it extremely amusing.
